How to press a DTF transfer

  1. Preheat your garment for 5–10 seconds to remove moisture.
  2. Position the transfer print-side down on the fabric.
  3. Press at 282°F (139°C) with medium pressure — 10 seconds on cotton and 50/50 blends, 6 seconds on polyester.
  4. Peel immediately while the transfer is still hot (instant peel).
  5. Finish with a 5-second press using parchment or a cover sheet for a softer hand feel.

Always run a test press on a scrap of the same fabric — heat presses vary, and a 10-second test saves a ruined shirt.

Frequently asked questions

What is a ready-to-press DTF transfer?
It is a direct-to-film print that has already been produced and cured. You receive the finished transfer and only need a heat press to apply it — no printer, no film, no powder, no curing equipment.

How long do DTF transfers last?
Our transfers are wash-tested past 50 cycles. Wash inside out in cold water and tumble dry low for the longest life.

Do DTF transfers work on dark shirts?
Yes. Every transfer is printed with a white ink underbase, so colors stay bright on black and dark garments.

What fabrics can I press them on?
Cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends and most performance fabrics. For heat-sensitive materials, lower the temperature and extend the press time slightly.

Can I use a home iron instead of a heat press?
It can work in a pinch, but a household iron cannot hold even temperature or pressure across the whole design. A heat press gives far better adhesion and wash durability.

Is there a minimum order?
No. Order a single transfer or thousands — pricing and turnaround stay the same.

Can I order in bulk?
Yes. For larger runs, our gang sheet builder packs multiple designs onto one sheet and brings the cost per print down significantly.

How fast do orders ship?
