A five-color festival tee demands five screens—about $125 in prep that DTF entirely skips. Even at 250 units, DTF can remain the better value when artwork fees are waived.
DTF: Photographic CMYK + White in one pass, ultra-fine gradients, neon and metallic options.
Screen Printing: Brilliant spot colors and bulletproof Pantone accuracy; halftones possible but require expert separations.
When the artwork is packed with tiny text, QR codes or multicolor fades, DTF preserves detail no squeegee can rival. For brand books that live and die by a specific Pantone code, screen still wins.

Our Dallas team regularly delivers transfers the same day to customer uploads art before noon. By contrast, most screen shops quote three to five business days after screens are burned.
In a recent internal test, we laundered matched cotton tees 50 times at 40 °C. The DTF print lost under 5 % color; plastisol lost just over 9 %.

Switching to water-based or eco-solvent DTF inks cuts VOCs by roughly 40 %. Screen printing can also go greener—just expect higher capital costs for washout booths and filtration.
Does DTF feel thick or rubbery?
Not when the right micron powder and medium pressure are used; the hand‑feel rivals premium plastisol.
Can I add special effects?
Absolutely—glitter, neon, reflective and puff layers integrate seamlessly with DTF. Screen offers similar effects but each needs another screen.
Which stretches better?
DTF's adhesive flexes naturally on four-way stretch garments. Plastisol can crack if under‑cured.
Is there a minimum order?
We print with no minimum —perfect for sample approval or limited-edition drops.
If your artwork is complex, your timeline tight or your run size unpredictable, DTF removes the friction. And when volume and Pantone precision dominate, screen printing still has its lane. Modern shops keep both processes in play—and DTF Center makes the DTF side effortless. Explore the exact sizing options our team presses every day: Custom DTF Transfers by Size
